Biorthogonal Wavelet Packets Associated with Nonuniform Multiresolution
In this paper, we introduce the notion of biorthogonal wavelet packets associated with nonuniform multiresoltion analysis and study their characteristics by means of Fourier transform. Three biorthogonal formulas regarding these wavelet packets are established. Moreover, it is shown how to obtain several new Riesz bases of the space (R) by constructing a series of subspaces of these nonuniform ...
متن کاملContent-adaptive Multiresolution Analyses
In this paper we present a technique for building adaptive wavelets by means of an extension of the lifting scheme and analyze the stability of the resulting decompositions. Our scheme comprises an adaptive update lifting and a fixed prediction lifting step. The adaptivity consists hereof that the system can choose between two different update filters, and that this choice is triggered by the l...
متن کاملSpectral Estimation Using Nonuniform Sampling
Nonuniform data appears in many applications including phased array radar. If a radar is tracking several targets, it may pulse each target at nonuniformly spaced instants in time. One may characterize a target's motion by its precession and spin frequencies, which can be determined from the radar return. Several methods for spectral estimation using nonuniform sampling are presented and compar...
متن کاملMultiresolution Analyses and Wavelets for Density Estimation
We use the concept of multiresolution analysis and orthonormal basis of wavelet functions to construct an estimator for an unknown density in a given Sobolev’s space. We show consistency with the rate of convergence equal to the optimal minimax rate of convergence. We also discuss some of the features of this new method of estimation on a numerical example.
متن کاملThe Impact of the Spectral Filter Bandwidth on the Spectral Entanglement and Indistinguishability of Photon Pairs of SPDC Process
In this paper, we have investigated the dependence of the spectral entanglement and indistinguishability of photon pairs produced by the spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) procedure on the bandwidth of spectral filters used in the detection setup. The SPDC is a three-wave mixing process which occurs in a nonlinear crystal and generates entangled photon pairs and utilizes as one of th...
